John Cofftrane, inspired by the figure of John Coltrane. The Warsaw cafe Tekla released its limited drop of specialty coffee. They asked me for an illustration related to coffee, music, and jazz, perhaps something with the album "Blue Train." Tekla is known for its phenomenal interior, delicious, top-quality coffee, and music played from vinyl on high-end hi-fi equipment. So I came up with the character of Coltrane playing his virtuoso saxophone solos and boosting himself with pour-over coffee. The coffee name was obvious - John Cofftrane. For all lovers of music, jazz, coffee, and my twisted style and humor. The color is also not accidental. It's a lacquer referring to inspiration from modern Japan. It is part of Tekla's visual identity that I created, and the growing group of illustrated characters (like John) is already creating something like a Teklaverse.
