GET UPPA! Poster

GET UPPA! This is John Cofftrane's twin poster. They look great side-by-side, but they also create a lot of visual impact on their own. For all lovers of funk and good coffee.

The illustration was made as an identification for specialty coffee, a collaboration of three musketeers: a special drop for Tekla Cafe created by Trigger Roastery, and illustrated by me. Caffeine hits slowly condense on the rising hype, and somewhere on the horizon of this ambrosia, sweet notes of nuts, milk chocolate, and (of course) brown sugar emerge. When this boost dilates your pupils, you'll feel the vibe that James championed when he pounded the stages of the funk world with boots as powerful as Brabant's hooves. One sip is enough to fall in love. One sniff to get lost in this world forever.

That's how I described the experience :)

The color is also no coincidence. It's lacquer inspired by modern Japan. It's part of Tekla's visual identity that I created, and the growing number of illustrated characters (like James and John) is already creating something like a Tekla universe.
